Road to $1M ARR day 16/60: my wife told "close the day early and go have some fun"...

and as i don't want to sleep on the couch. i am gonna listen.

Day 16 of the $1M ARR sprint.

Biggest deal we’ve ever closed might happen because of a service we’ve never talked about publicly.

(those who’ve been following know exactly what service i’m talking about)

The prospect told me 3 things my ego is 100% gonna remember for a while.

-“I never book calls from cold outreach, but you’ve nailed yours”.

-“I’ve never seen someone demo a service like this. you actually understand what matters.”

-“You should coach founders on sales.”

i’ll take the compliment. But what actually matters is the deal size we’re discussing. a potential 5-figures monthly retainer.

Crazy good.

I started the morning with my chief of operations and a friend’s agency. We’re hiring them to automate a part of our onboarding.

We’ve been doing 30% of onboarding manually. Made sense when we had 10 clients. Makes zero sense when you’re sprinting to $1M ARR.

Every new client needs the same information gathered, same flows triggered, same AI systems activated. We built the intelligence layer. Now we need the connectors.

My friend’s agency gets it. They’ll build what connects our 70% automated pieces into 95% automated reality.

Hours saved per client onboarded. Multiply that by the volume we need. The math is obvious to me.

Told you i was gonna have 5 calls todays. I removed two calls from my calendar after checking who booked them. No budget. Wrong stage. Complete misalignment.

My LinkedIn posts going viral created a problem i didn’t really expect. More reach = more unqualified leads booking calls.

So i’m building a routing flow. Before anyone gets on my calendar, i get an email: company stage, funding status, team size. Basic sanity check.

Built this for multiple clients in the past but never for me lmfao.

If they’re qualified, i take the call. If not let’s talk in 2 months when i either have more time or someone on my time starts support me in sales calls (Alvaro i see you).

Being anarchic about decisions during this sprint means no 30 minute calls with people who can’t afford a $5K/month retainer.

No offense to anyone trying to book time. But every minute counts right now.

So i am gonna apply this tomorrow to my ads campaigns as well. Cutting my audience by 10x if needed. I don’t want brand awareness.

Precision over volume. Budget qualification over broad reach. Revenue over vanity metrics.

My wife told me to have some fun tonight. Said “i’ve been working too much. not good for my health”.

As i don’t want to sleep on the couch, i’m listening.

Tomorrow i’ll share what “having fun” means when you’re a growth obsessed founder in the middle of a public sprint.

The infrastructure improvements will compound. The qualification fixes will prevent wasted time. The ad targeting will drive better leads.

Everything building toward one number.

Getting there.

ARR: $622K → Target: $1M | Days remaining: 44

See you tomorrow 👊

O.

Ps: Closing the day at 6:30pm today. First time in a while :)).
